These postcards depict Dovercourt Bay, in various veiws and were published by Joseph Salmon of Sevenoaks. The artwork is part of the A.R. Quinton Series, based on watercolours by Alfred Robert Quinton (1853–1934). Quinton began working with Salmon after the publisher spotted his paintings in London and commissioned a 1912 calendar featuring English village views. The success of this calendar led to a 22-year partnership where Quinton produced over 2,000 watercolour scenes for J. Salmon.
