#124010 Una Road, Parkeston, Essex (1929) by Bell's Photography
Una Road was one of the last to be built in Parkeston, with the older housing closer to Station Road and the later housing in the distance towards the old Brick Works. The road was said to me named after "Una Woods" (Daughter of the then, Vicar of Ramsey). Also with reference to its relative "young" age, it was known to some local residents as "Posh Parkeston", with some of the newer housing have large gardens and semi-detached properties.
The local corner shop was "E.K.Wrights" tobacconist, newsagents, confectionery and general provisions. From the local news stands stood outside, the famous Mrs Duff's "Croydon Poisoning Case" ties this photo back to August 1929.
